Landscapes with roads and paths, leading somewhere, disguised by over- and underexposure
at the end of the path. Way of painting varies from modest to pasty. With a
palette of tonalities, sometimes reduced to black and white, from modest to
pasty, I try to create an illusion of a landscape. The theme ‘full moon’
has inspired me; the duality of night, as well dark as light, beautiful as ominous.
I am looking for an atmosphere of ‘unheimlichkeit’, becoming silent
en despair. Urban image elements serve as support in raw built masses of paint.
Frozen scenes, without traceable time-indications fascinate me.
